Can I share these presets with others? No, these presets are for personal use only. Redistribution, reselling, or sharing the files is strictly prohibited. Please respect the work that has gone into creating them.
-
Why do some presets look very different on my image compared to the examples?Milky Way photography is highly dependent on location, altitude, light pollution, atmospheric conditions, humidity, camera settings, and even post-processing choices. Since every image is captured under different conditions, some presets might initially appear too strong, too subtle, too warm, or too cold. This does not mean the preset is flawed—it simply means it was designed based on a different set of images than yours. The presets are meant to serve as a base edit, and you may need to make adjustments (such as white balance, tint, or contrast) to fit your specific conditions. If a preset looks “off,” try minor adjustments before moving to another preset. Some images may require more manual fine-tuning than others.
-
Can I adjust the presets after applying them?Absolutely! These presets serve as a starting point for your edits. After applying a preset, you can adjust sliders such as exposure, contrast, white balance, and color grading to better fit your specific image.
-
Will these presets work on JPEG images? While the presets can technically be applied to JPEG images, they are optimized for RAW files, as RAW images retain the most data and allow for better color grading. Using them on JPEGs may not produce the intended results.
-
Are these presets optimized for my camera brand?Yes! The presets are specifically designed for Sony, Canon, and Nikon cameras to account for differences in color science and histogram response between brands. Upon downloading, you’ll receive three folders—one for each brand. While you should primarily use the presets corresponding to your camera brand, you are free to experiment with others as sometimes they may yield interesting results.
-
How many presets are included in this collection? This collection includes over 70 presets divided into two categories across three different camera brands (Sony, Canon, Nikon): Milky Way Classic (for standard, non-modified cameras) Milky Way Astro (for astro-modified cameras) Each camera brand has its own dedicated set of presets to ensure accurate color calibration.
-
Do these presets include local adjustments or AI masks? No, these presets do not include local adjustments, AI masks, cropping, or specific area refinements. They are designed to work purely within the editing panel, giving you a strong base edit that you can further refine as needed. This makes them highly adaptable to different images.
-
How do I install the presets?Installation is simple and works across Lightroom Classic, Lightroom CC (Desktop & Mobile), and Photoshop (Adobe Camera Raw). A detailed User Guide is included in your download with step-by-step instructions.
-
What is the refund policy?Since this is a digital product, it is delivered to you immediately upon purchase. Due to the nature of digital downloads, all sales are final, and refunds cannot be issued. Please make sure to review all the details before purchasing.
-
What happens if I use the wrong preset on my image? If you apply a Classic preset to an astro-modified image, the image will become even redder than it already is. Conversely, if you apply an Astro preset to a classic Milky Way image, it will take on a very intense blue cast. To ensure accurate colors, always use: Classic presets → for standard (non-modified) cameras Astro presets → for astro-modified cameras
-
Can I use these presets if I have a different camera brand? These presets were designed with Sony, Canon, and Nikon RAW files in mind. However, if you shoot with another brand, you may still find that some presets work well, though minor adjustments might be needed. You’re welcome to experiment and see which ones suit your images best.
-
What if I use an astro-modified camera but already correct my white balance manually? If you’re shooting with an astro-modified camera and already apply custom white balance corrections during your workflow, you may find that the Astro presets look too strong or shift the colors more than expected. In this case, there are a few ways to adjust: Try the Milky Way Classic presets first – Since you’ve already corrected your white balance, a Classic preset might actually work better as a base. If it looks too cool, you can manually warm it up using the Temperature and Tint sliders. Use the Astro presets but fine-tune – If the Astro Modified preset pushes the reds too far, simply adjust the white balance sliders slightly to neutralize the tones to your liking. Experiment with different brand folders – Depending on how your camera processes color, a preset from a different brand folder (e.g., a Canon preset on a Nikon file) might balance things out in a way that works better for your specific shot. Every astro-modded setup is different, so small tweaks may be needed, but the presets will still give you a strong starting point to enhance your Milky Way images with minimal effort.
